Frequently asked questions

How are services paid for?

Services are paid through your CADI, BI or DD waiver.

How or when will I receive services?

You will receive 20-30 hours of scheduled services each week. Staff members will meet with you in your apartment to assess your availability for the upcoming week. This includes identifying time slots when you are open to receiving services. 

Are staff available anytime I need them?

No. Staff work with you during your scheduled appointment time.

Is staff available 24 hours, 7 days a week?

No, we provide services daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00  p.m. During this time frame, staff members are available to provide services.


Am I allowed to have pets?

You are allowed a verified service or emotional animal only. You'll need a letter from a licensed mental health professional (such as a therapist or psychiatrist) that shows your need for an emotional support animal. This letter should outline your mental health condition and explain how the emotional support animal helps alleviate your symptoms.

Do I need to sign a lease?

Yes, a standard lease must be signed before move-in.

Is there nursing staff on site?

There is no nursing staff on site.  In addition, we do not provide ADLs.  However, outside PCAs are allowed.

What steps should I take t if I want to live at Grandma's Place?

You can start by completing our intake application.  The application serves as a structured way to collect essential information.  We then determine if the services Grandma's Place offers align with your specific needs.

Do you provide medication management?

We support our client's medication management, by setting up medicine machines.

How much is the rent, and can I afford it?

The cost of rent varies depending on the unit.  Grandma's Place realizes rent costs can be high, and we will help to determine what programs you may be eligible for to help with some of the cost.
